“This kind of music is irresistible”
Put on your dancing shoes, because PAPA LIPS are back!
After recording Harmony in 1996 and High Time Now in 1998, PAPA LIPS disappeared from the Australian music scene to allow Kara Grainger, Mitch Grainger, Declan Kelly and Clayton Doley time to pursue other projects.
Australia’s most dynamic and entertaining live acts
In their short, yet bright time together during the late 90’s, PAPA LIPS became known as one of Australia’s most dynamic and entertaining live acts, regularly performing to large crowds at the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and established venues such as The Basement in Sydney.
Since then PAPA LIPS have become (individually) established in Australia’s Roots music scene. They are literally are a who’s who of Australia’s session musicians, regularly performing and recording for stars such as Guy Sebastian and Katie Noonan.
Arriving on the live circuit ahead of the current Roots Music craze that has taken a hold of the international festival scene, PAPA LIPS may have been ahead of their time.
In any case, with their return, 10 years later, PAPA LIPS is a name still revered by Roots music fans across Australia.
