You might have been taught that the atomic bombs ended WWII but that is not accurate.

Prior to the bombing of Hiroshima on the 6th August 1945, the Japanese government had already made the decision to accept the Potsdam Declaration. They had previously requested the USSR to act as intermediate to negotiate with NATO about the conditions of surrender and in particular, retaining the Imperial system. At that time the Japanese army was powerless to attack or even defend their own land. Many cities had been bombed and many civilians killed and injured. The US government had a sophisticated intelligence network and they were very aware of the Japanese armyfs capabilities and the deteriorated condition of the Japanese. United Statefs intelligence was well aware that Japan was unable to sustain the war effort and should have determined that the atomic bombs were not necessary to subdue Japanese forces. However, the US had other reason to drop this new powerful bomb on Japan.
The US government wanted to finish the war without USSR involvement. This ensured they were the dominant stakeholder in the post war surrender agreement with Japan. Their goal was to test a new Uranium and Plutonium type bomb. If the USfs reasoning for using the bombs was to show their dominant position or to force Japan to end the war, then the second bomb in Nagasaki was unnecessary. They used innocent Japanese civilians as guinea pigs to test the effects of two different types of bombs.
Truman and Secretary of War Henry Stimson, August 8, 1945
Hitler killed 350000 Jews in Auschwitz but the US killed 600,000 people with just two bombs. The act of using two atomic bombs to finish off a powerless Japan was absolutely inhuman.
The Soviet Union disregarded the non-aggression pact with Japan, broke the neutrality pact, progressed to Korea as well as the northern territories of Japan. There, they captured tens of thousand of Japanese soldiers and forced them into severe hard labor as POWs, while the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were suffering from the damaging effects of the atomic bombs.@To this day, the Soviet still occupies traditional Japanese territory. The end of World War Two saw a revitalization of the Caucasian colonization policy as seen before the Russia-Japanese War (1905).
The atomic bombs were an experiment of the worst kind to be carried out on human beings. There were other alternatives to end the War.@Saddam Hussein massacred Kurds with poisonous gas and received the death penalty. Yet President Truman massacred the innocent citizens of Japan and has not received any criticism. The airplane that dropped the atomic bombs has been preserved and put on display as a treasured artifact in the United States.

In addition, it is important that I explain that Japanfs involvement in the war was perceived as the only resistance to European colonization of Asia at that time.@Asian countries except for China and Korea, admitted there was significant value in Japanfs resistance and they have some appreciation for Japanfs contribution to the independence of Asian countries following the war. Previous to WWII, Britain occupied India, Hong Kong and Singapore. France occupied Thailand, Holland occupied Indonesia and the US occupied some Pacific Islands as well as the Philippines.
The European invasion continued. Due to the expansive European colonization at that time, Japan felt threatened. The US tried to enforce unfair trade agreements on Japan in regard to oil and the introduction of the gHull Noteh. Eventually, the US stopped supplying oil to Japan because Japan refused to meet the unfair and biased trade agreements. Japan felt the only way to avoid domination by the US like other Asian nations, was to enter the war.
One of Japanfs best qualities is its ability to put the past behind them along with any notion of revenge and future conflict. It is the only developed nation to renounce war and nuclear weapons in its constitution.
Even though the world has the experience and knowledge of past destruction, wars over religion and land continue. However, most of the time those wars are founded on monetary greed.
It is the people of a nation that suffer at the hands of manipulative political leaders. Ordinary people become the victims, sacrificing their lives for the cause of religious leaders and the media.
This earth provides enough for all human beings without killing or stealing. We should respect and love each other like we respect and love our children. By accepting and understanding each other we can end this ridiculous nuclear arms competition. This is especially true for developed countries, which have the power and wealth to share. Also, they should be willing to accept their bloody histories rather than holding on to their pride and continue the killing.
The vicious cycle of killing will continue unless someone surrenders their revenge. We need to concentrate on the importance of patience, love for our family, and protecting the earth. We can learn from the attitude of Japan. They are the only country that has suffered from the destruction of atomic bombs yet they do not seek revenge. Most important of all is to live thankfully in harmony with nature without being influenced by a particular ideology or religion.
The peace movements embraced by young Americans in 1970fs, created ripples throughout the world like a stone being thrown in a pond. There are many young people since the 1970fs who have been given the challenge of opening the door of truth but their ideology has become a veil of ignorance and they have not succeeded.
We can get information not only with our eyes or ears but we can feel it with our heart. Money, status and fame do not reveal the truth but the heart can teach us the truth. No one feels good about doing something wrong. For those people, their heart is always crying. There is no future for human beings, if we do not face the reality of our history.
It is our intelligence that helps us face the truth and it is our emotions of revenge and fear that leads us and our loved ones on the journey of nuclear destruction. If your love is true and you choose to turn a blind eye then you are guilty. There is no need to give up hope. The door of the future will not open unless we have the power of many people. I believe in the true love of human beings.
